Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Gustav Littau, Skovfyrvangen 6, 5270 Odense N, Denmark ("Rawly", "we", "us"), the developer of the Rawly app. They include the end user licence for the app. By creating an account or using Rawly you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Rawly.
1. Who can use Rawly
You must be at least 16 years old. Rawly is not directed at children. A parent or guardian may add children as household profiles holding the minimum data needed (a nickname, an age band and allergens).
2. Your account
You need an account, created with Sign in with Apple or an email address and password. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete it at any time (see Delete your data).
3. What Rawly is, and isn't
Rawly shows information about food products: ingredients, flagged ingredients with sources, allergen and diet checks for your household, and the Rawly Score. It is informational only and is not medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Product data can be wrong or incomplete, so always check the package, especially for allergens. Please read the Health & Allergen Disclaimer, which is part of these terms.
4. Subscription
Rawly requires a paid subscription, sold and billed by Apple. Plans, the free trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds are described in the Subscription Terms, which are part of these terms.
5. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Rawly app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer (except where the law allows it), rent, sell or redistribute the app.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Rawly. In particular, don't:
- try to access other people's data or interfere with the service, its security or its limits;
- scrape the app or its servers, or use automated means to make requests;
- upload photos that show people, especially children, or anything unlawful (please photograph only the product packaging);
- use Rawly to make medical decisions for yourself or others.
7. Product data, AI features and your content
- Product data comes mostly from Open Food Facts under the Open Database License; see Data Sources & Licences.
- If you photograph a package, the photo is processed by a third-party AI service to read the label. AI can misread labels; results are marked as read from your photo.
- You keep the rights to what you enter in Rawly (for example your diary). You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Rawly to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Our rights
Rawly, its design, the Rawly Score method and its texts belong to us or our licensors. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond the licence above.
9. Changes and availability
We improve Rawly over time and may change or stop features. We may update these terms; for material changes we'll tell you in the app before they apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using Rawly and delete your account. We aim to keep Rawly available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Rawly and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can. Cancelling your subscription is done through Apple.
11. Liability
We provide Rawly with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on product data instead of the product's label. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Danish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts there. Please contact us first: most problems can be solved quickly.
13. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Rawly from the App Store, you and we acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Rawly and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Rawly.
- If Rawly fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Rawly, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses due to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Rawly or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that Rawly fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that Rawly or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using Rawly.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
